Leo
Leo was a 10-month-old, 12.34-pound puppy who had been through a lot. He came into the shelter as a stray after being hit by a car, and x-rays showed he had fractures in both his legs—his left ulna and right femur!
The poor pup was unable to bear weight on his right hind leg or his left front leg, and he had minor wounds and abrasions on his abdomen and inguinal area.
Time was of the essence for Leo. The longer he stayed in the shelter, the less chance those fractures had to heal properly, especially given his young age. Initially flagged with a Blue Alert, he was later moved to Orange Alert—just one step away from Code Red. Thankfully, we found out about his situation and took on his case, funded his operation, and now Leo is on his way to recovery!
